STATEMENT OF THE OPPORTUNITY

As a senior college student who is going to enter her career path within a year, finding a right company to start with is extremely important and can be very time consuming. In order to clearly identify my goals and make me well-prepared for my future careers, it is crucial to research in ahead and gather sufficient information. Therefore, I am going to narrow down my search into two accounting firms that I am most interested in and compare them based in the criteria that I valued most. After analyzing these two companies, I should be able to identify the most appropriate firm for me to apply for a job.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF WORK

The purpose of doing this report is to compare two firms that I would like to work with and decide which one is a better choice. My analysis mainly focuses on the criteria that I have set up, which include company ranking, company value, company forecast, company international capability, and employees development. Besides, company’s background information, provided services, target customers, and SWOT analysis are also illustrated in this report. After applying all of these elements, I will be able to finalize my decision and choose the appropriate company to apply for.

SOURCES AND METHODS OF DATA COLLECTION

A primary data collection source is from the two companies’ websites. In addition, Google Scholar, Yahoo Finance, and SJSU King Library database are my secondary academic sources. Also, U.S. major magazines and newspapers, such as Forbes, Wall Street Journal, and Journal of Accountancy, will be used for data collection as well. Generally, I collect information from media sources since they are easy to access and many of them are available for everyone without additional charges.
