Directions:

This assignment requires you to think about your current transferable skills and expertise and apply that to a global organization of your choosing. You should know your professional level based off of your Module 2 – Resume assignment. Think about a company of your field of interest that you would like to work for and analyze the global industry it is a part of.

(EX: Coca Cola= Food & Beverage industry, Tesla= automotive/manufacturing industry).

Don’t have a specific global organization you wish to work for? No worries! Think about the industry in which you are interested in working and apply that with a global mindset in your paper.

(EX: You want to work for Tampa General Hospital (TGH)? Then talk about the healthcare industry in a global setting)

Each section of this assignment has a set of questions for you to think about and answer in your paper . WRITE IN COMPLETE SENTENCES & ANSWER EACH QUESTION. This should be written in paragraph form to create a cohesive paper. Your answers should not be one-worded answers or bullet-point responses. You should have collegiate level responses in each question. You will submit your 3 – page paper to Canvas. Your Reference page does not count towards your page count.

Step 1 – Reflection Section:

1. Do you have a specific global organization in mind to work for and why? If not, what would be an ideal global industry for you to work for?

Tip / Think about: Ideal abroad location, ideal working industry, daily duties, company’s global image, etc.

2. What would be your top factors for working globally?

3. What skills do you posses right now that are employable for global companies to hire you?

Tip / Think about: Do you speak another language or multiple languages? Do you travel a lot and are accustom to traveling abroad? Have a passion for other cultures? Do you have any transferable skills that could easily be transferred into another country or company? Think about your resume and more specifically think about your skills section in your resume.

Step 2  – Research Section:

1. It’s time to do some research! Target one organization you would like to work for that pertains to your goals and your reflection section answers; research that company using the information you learned in this module’s PowerPoint presentation.

After reading the selected company’s mission/values and reviewing the website fully and in detail, write about the company IN YOUR OWN WORDS.

Tip / Think About: Research and talk about the selected company’s products/services, locations, mission/values/vision statements, competitors, short-term goals, organizational culture, etc. Please DO NOT copy and paste the mission and other items you researched. Rather, include them in your own words along with a clear reflection of your thoughts when researching and how this information relates to you, your interests, skills, etc.
