A crazy law in Maryland that I found to be interesting is that “You can not use profanity while driving”. This law states that you are not legally allowed to curse while behind the wheel, especially within earshot of people in surrounding cars. This also includes begin within earshot of any street, sidewalk or highway within the hearing of persons passing by, upon or along such street, sidewalk, or highway. The law states that “Sec. 13-53. – Profanity; violation of section declared misdemeanor.

(a) A person may not profanely curse and swear or use obscene language upon or near any street, sidewalk or highway within the hearing of persons passing by, upon or along such street, sidewalk or highway.

(b) A person may not act in a disorderly manner by profanely cursing, swearing or using obscene language.

(c) Any person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor.

I would have to agree with this law simply because the use of profanity behind the wheel can lead to road rage. This law protects not only the driver but those that are surrounding them, from getting into an accident caused by road rage.  This also can elevate the effects of hypertension behind the wheel by keeping the stress down while driving. Its noted that road rage can cause major health issues such as heart attack, stroke and hypertension; by not using profanity you are remaining calm, keeping your stress levels down, which in turn can lead to health benefits. This law should be in place simply because it will keep accidents and rage behind the wheel down, keeping the driver and surround communities safe.

There are so many laws that seem not to make sense. I could inscribe a paper that is three million words long on this subject. However, I am going to inhibit myself from choosing only one. This one emanates from my abode state of Maryland. Ostensibly, it is not lawful to eat and swims in the ocean concurrently. This is fascinating to me. I have never, personally, visually perceived this incredibly despicable act take place. But, I can optically discern the possible hazardous side effects of this action. My first thought is that the Atlantic Ocean does contain predatory fish. The most dangerous of which is the shark. I know sharks prefer meat. It is, altogether, possible for a shark to smell or taste a ham sandwich. I know that meat is their preference. The question then becomes, “Would a shark cull your meatball sub sandwich over a bite out of you?” I understand that humans are never the target of sharks. I comprehend that they think we are seals, birds, or turtles. I am sure they have never endeavored a turkey sandwich. Could this be the answer to shark attacks?  

Other fish in the sea relish people’s aliment. In fact, I took a peregrination to the Caribbean, where I was given a bag of bread, torn into bits, to magnetize fish. I was on a scuba excursion, and this is how the fish were lured towards us. They became very belligerent. Resplendent and graceful creatures came to consume our offered remnants orally. They fought each other to win this grand prize. The other, not in the general scope of thought, maybe the seasickness issue.  The ocean can be choppy. Believe it or not, your body reacts to this in the same way as it would in a boat. The contents of your belly are still being jostled around. This transpired to me in Maui, Hawaii. I have been swimming all my life. I couldn’t believe how sick I felt. I was told that my face reached that feared color of green. I believe that I have expounded the consequentiality of this law for Marylanders and, potentially, all swimmers in the sea. The world, holistically, should heed this piece of the legislature!
